International online cybersecurity training in the format of Capture the Flag was held at MITIT

As part of the implementation of memorandums of understanding between the Kruty Heroes Military Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Polish Naval Academy named after Heroes Westerplatte, the Bulgarian Naval Academy named after Nikola Vaptsarov and the Norwegian University College of Defense, as well as in accordance with the Cybexer Cyber Lab Use Plan for 2024, the Military Institute hosted an international online cybersecurity training in the Capture the Flag format.

The online training was attended by 6 teams, in particular: representatives of one of the military units of the Communications and Cybersecurity Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, teams Kharkiv National Air Force University named after Ivan Kozhedub, Polish Naval Academy named after the Heroes of Westerplatte, Bulgarian Naval Academy named after Nikola Vaptsarov, and Norwegian University College of Defense. The training included two phases and two bonus tasks. During the unique training, the participants had 36 hints available to them, for which they received penalty points.

Without exception, all the tasks of the Work&Travel competition were practical and aimed at developing and improving knowledge and skills in analyzing network traffic and events on endpoints to detect and identify cyber threats - hidden control channels, data exfiltration, obfuscation and encryption of malicious activities.
