The head of the Department of Automated Control System successfully completed a qualification cource at NATO SCHOOL Oberammergau in Network Security

From September the 4th to November the 24th, 2023, the Head of the Automated Control Systems Department of the Kruty Heroes Military Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technology Faculty of Information Technologies, Oleksandr O. Trotsko took a career development course "Network Security" at the NATO SCHOOL in Oberammergau, Germany.

The course covered three main thematic areas:

- fundamental principles of computer networks security (protection of end and edge devices of computer networks);

- recognition and blocking vulnerabilities and threats on a computer network (traffic analysis, filtering, and perimeter protection);

- protection of confidentiality and integrity of information in computer networks (applied cryptography, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, public key infrastructure).

Everything in the course was aimed at gaining a solid basic understanding of these three areas.

The course was conducted in English in a mixed mode learning:

- the 1st and the 12th weeks full-time at the NATO School in Oberammergau, Germany;

- remotely from the 2nd to 11th weeks.

The training included lectures, practical tasks on traffic analysis, designing and configuring corporate networks security, test tasks, and final testing.
