Added: 26.09.2019 Revised: 2314

Cadets of the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technologies named after Heroes of Kruty are actively participating in the international command and staff exercise involving troops «Rapid Trident - 2019» in the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy in Lviv region.

During the active phase of the international command and staff exercise, the combat use of an UAV repeater to ensure an increased coverage area for radio equipment of units directly involved in the exercise was tested.

It should be noted that the UAV repeater was developed at the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technologies named after Heroes of Kruty by the working group of the Department of Special Means of Communications and Radio Engineering, which included cadets of all specialties (“Computer Science, Information Systems and technologies”, “Cybersecurity”, “Telecommunications and radio engineering”).

This approach to comprehensive training and involvement of specialists in highly intelligent specialties in one establishment of higher education made it possible to unite the efforts of specialists of all specialties of training in the development of an air platform, repeater and special software.

The UAV repeater is capable of maintaining and strengthening communication 24 hours a day, provided the two aircrafts are used. The UAV, made by cadets from composite materials, carries 1.5 kg of payload, which consists of repeaters of different types. Working height to provide communication – 600-700 meters, but if necessary, the drone can ascend to 1000 meters.

During the active phase of the international command and staff exercise, the cadets of the Institute were involved in the implementation of functionality of the Delta information system operator, namely, to provide support in assessing the actions of Ukrainian units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their further joint work with NATO units.

Involving of future officers in highly intelligent specialties in international command and staff exercise provides them with opportunities to confirm the high level of training at the Institute and gain experience in implementing their knowledge, new ideas and practical skills in the development of modern information systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
